19 April Friday Light discussion – Michel de Montaigne

The pioneering Renaissance humanist thinker Michel de Montaigne, best known for his series of “Essais” (the scope of which go far beyond his well-known “On Cannibals” and his theory of the “noble savage”) is the theme of the 19 April “Friday Light” discussion group meeting at 6.30pm at the Chapel. Everyone is, as ever, very welcome.

Christmas Services in Evesham and Kidderminster, 16 December

Everyone will be very welcome indeed at the eminently festive and always enjoyable Cotswold Group Christmas Service at 11:00 on Sunday 16 December at Oat Street Chapel.

If you are still up for even more carols after that, please support our fellow chapel in Kidderminster by going to their “Carols by Candlelight with the Kidderminster Operatic Dramatic Society Choir” at 6.30pm the same day at Unitarian New Meeting House, Church Street, Bullring, Kidderminster DY10 2AR.

Mince pies and other suitably toothsome refreshments will be much in evidence at both events!

General Assembly Feedback Service – Sunday 3 June

On Sunday 3rd Lesley Harris will be giving her annual GA Feedback Service at which she will update us on everything that took place at the Unitarian General Assembly in April at Keele University. The GA’s theme this year was “Be Inspired!”   Lesley has chosen the readings and music in such a way as to recreate as far as possible the main service at the GA.  All, of course, very welcome.

2012 Membership Service – Sunday 13 May

The morning service at Evesham on 13th will be our annual membership service, at which we celebrate the membership of all members and friends of the Oat Street Chapel community, and also welcome new members who have either joined the congregation or expressed a wish to do so during the past year. Please, if Evesham is your home congregation, do join us on that date if you possibly can.

“Friday Light” for November

Meetings next month will be on November 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th. If you would like to lead a Friday Light – maybe there’s a subject that you find particularly inspiring – please let Don or Kath know.
